Get ready to go DEEP!

For the DEEP South journey we have carefully blended quality time in Thailand´s most beautiful and unique natural treasures: tranquil mountain lakes; wild, remote jungles; sleepy, rural villages; and tranquil, pristine beaches; with outstanding opportunities for study and service.

We will meet on the island of Phuket and travel north along the Andaman Coast to a small, virtually untouched island called Ko Ra. After a week of daily yoga and Thai Yoga Massage classes, and spacious siestas on our private beach, we will travel to the nearby island of Ko Phra Thong and the mainland village of Kuraburi, and spend 4 days living with a local families. Our days will be spent teaching yoga and Thai Yoga Massage to our new neighbors as part of the ZIA PROJECT, and learning local skills like batik and cooking Thai food. Next we will venture to the Surin Islands for a couple of days of snorkeling in some of the worlds most renowned reefs. While in the Surins we will also have the unique opportunity to spend time in a Moken village. The last leg of our journey will take us by boat through Khao Sok National Park to a floating bamboo village. We will spend a week on the water practicing yoga and Thai yoga massage, and exploring the surrounding jungle on foot and by kayak.

This adventure is designed for the pure, unpampered traveler seeking to fully experience the raw richness and beauty of this unique land in every cell of their body - those rare souls who are ready and willing to get dirty, give generously and go

The basics

This journey will begin at 9:00 AM on February 11th at the Airport Resort in Phuket, and will end at 4:00 PM on March 2nd at the Phuket Airport.

Getting to the Airport Resort: From the Phuket Airport there is a complimentary shuttle service.

It is wise to plan on arriving in Phuket a day before our journey together begins so that you have time to adjust to the time difference. Accommodation at the Airport Resort on February 10th is included in the cost of the journey.

Returning to Bangkok: Experience has shown that by the end of our journey together, participants have come to LOVE Thailand and feel quite comfortable navigating it on their own; so not surprisingly, they don't want to leave. We recommend that if you have the opportunity to build a few extra days or weeks into your itinerary, DO IT! But if you must return to Bangkok right away, flights from Phuket to Bangkok run very regularly and one-way fares are reasonably priced. The flight takes about one hour.
