The International Women’s Partnership for Peace and Justice
Is a retreat center located on the outskirts of Mae Rim. It is directed by Ouyporn Khuankaew, a local Thai woman who’s inspirational teachings focus on cultivating mindfulness for a socially engaged life. IWP offers us the ideal location and support to explore the Buddha’s teachings, practice meditation and yoga, and deepen our connection to nature, our community and ourselves. www.womenforpeaceandjustice.org

Andaman Discoveries
Durng the Southern Thailand -DEEP South Journey, The people of Baan Thalaynok will welcome us into their homes for an authentic peek into Thai village life. With their gentle guidance we will learn to speak basic Thai, cook Thai deserts, batik, fish, and weave palm leaves into roof tiles. We will also have an opportunity to teach English and help re-plant a mangrove forest that was destroyed in the tsunami. This is a wonderful opportunity to cultivate cross-cultural friendships and practice compassion in action. www.andamandiscoveries.com

Koh Ra Ecolodge
Is located on a small sheltered horse-shoe bay on the north end Koh Ra; a largely uninhabited island in the North Andaman Sea. This once-abandoned facility has recently undergone a conscious transformation thanks to the vision and dedication of our hosts Kim and Ah. Current Ecolodge projects include an organic garden and a partnership with Reef Watch Thailand which trains divers to track the health of the surrounding reefs. The enlightened vibe, healthy food and stunning beauty at the Koh Ra Ecolodge make it the perfect venue for our DEEP South Thai Yoga Massage Intensive. www.thaiecolodge.com

Jungle Yoga
Dick and Beth (and the hornbills, cicadas and gibbons) are our hosts at one of the best kept secrets in Thailand – Jungle Yoga. Floating on a pristine, mosquito-free lake, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs; Jungle Yoga’s bamboo village offers us a genuinely unique venue for our DEEP South Journey. Here the sun will teach us openness, the lake will teach us fluidity and the mountains will teach us stability. Our free time will be spent kayaking, swimming or simply swinging in the hammocks – the perfect way to soak up the sights, smells and sounds of the jungle! www.jungleyoga.com
